Super Seferovic scores in final minute to seal Switzerland's win

Brasilia (Brazil), June 15: With less than 30 seconds remaining for the final whistle, Haris Seferovic emerged as Switzerland's hero as he scored to give them a 2-1 victory over Ecuador in their Group E match at the Estadio Nacional stadium on Sunday.

This edition of the World Cup was heading to witness its first draw but Seferovic decided to change the script in the dying moments of the match.

With 3 minutes of stoppage time to play, Seferovic fired home in the final minute to break the hearts of Ecuador players and their fans.

It was a comeback by the Swiss after being down in the first half. Both Swiss goals were scored by substitues. Veteran Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld made the right moves with his substitutions.

Seferovic was brought on in the 75th minute. The team's equaliser came in the 48th minute through Admir Mehmedi, who headed the ball into the net from close range. Mehmedi was introduced into the field in the 46th minute and found the net two minutes later.

Ecuador had taken the lead when Enner Valencia scored in the 22nd minute at the stadium located in the Brazilian capital.
