Supercopa de Espana Final 2025: Barcelona Thump Real Madrid 5-2 to Win Spanish Super Cup For 15th Time

Barcelona lifted the Spanish Super Cup for the 15th time in the club's history after thumping rivals Real Madrid 5-2 in the Supercopa de Espana 2025 final at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday (January 12) night.

Real Madrid claimed an early lead through Kylian Mbappe in the 5th minute, but Barcelona fought back, scoring four of their five goals in the first half with Lamine Yamal finding the equaliser in the 22nd minute before the the floodgates opened in the final 10 minutes of the first 45.

While Robert Lewandowski converted from the spot to help Barcelona claim the lead in the 36th minute, Raphina scored a brace on either side of the half as the Blaugrana ran rampant of their rivals with Alejandra Balde also finding the back of the net in injury time of the first half.

Barcelona went down to 10 men in the second half after goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was given the marching orders in the 56th minute for a foul on Mbappe. The Los Blancos took advantage immediately and pulled one goal back through Rodrygo at the stroke of the hour-mark.

Despite repeated attacks from Real Madrid against a 10-men Barcelona, the Blaugrana held on to their lead as they claimed the Spanish Super Cup title dominantly. It was Barca's fifteenth triumph in the competition, most times a team has won the Spanish Super Cup. Here is a look at the teams with most Super Cup wins:
