Switzerland have named their final squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 on Friday (June 7). The Swiss are slotted in Group A along with hosts Germany, Hungary and Scotland.
Switzerland head coach Murat Yakin announced a preliminary 33-man group last month, but have now cut it down to the 26-member final squad for the continental tournament which starts from June 14.

Yakin will be hoping to replicate their fine run at the last tournament, where they were beaten by Spain in the quarter-finals after eliminating France on penalties in the Round of 16.
Notable absentees from the final squad include Genk striker Andi Zaqiri, who scored nine goals in 37 appearances in 2023-24. Kevin Mbabu, who was part of the side that beat Didier Deschamps' men three years ago, is also missing.
Granit Xhaka will lead his side for a third time at an international tournament. This follows his success in helping Bayer Leverkusen win their first Bundesliga title this season. The former Arsenal man is one of the most experienced Swiss players with 124 appearances behind his name.
Manchester City's Manuel Akanji has enjoyed another strong season. He helped the Citizens keep 17 clean sheets in 48 appearances in all competitions. He continues to assert himself as one of the Premier League's finest defenders and will be key for them.
As part of their Euro 2024 preparation, Switzerland will host Austria in a friendly match on Saturday before travelling to Germany. The Swiss will start their Group A campaign against Hungary in Koln on June 15, followed by matches with Scotland and the hosts.
