Juventus has faced challenges with injuries affecting their consistency, but Thiago Motta refuses to use this as an excuse after recent losses. The team experienced their first Serie A defeat against Napoli and also lost to Benfica in the Champions League. Despite these setbacks, Motta is determined for his players to regain their winning form.
Several key Juventus players have been injured this season, with Pierre Kalulu being the latest to suffer a muscular issue. Chelsea loanee Renato Veiga is expected to step in for the upcoming match against Empoli. Motta expressed his disappointment at not having Kalulu available but remains optimistic about others stepping up.

"It's a shame we can't have Kalulu with us," he told reporters during his pre-match press conference. "There are others who will surely come in and do well, and they will be a great help."
Motta emphasised that while injuries have impacted their performance, they are not an excuse. He believes continuity is crucial for achieving high levels of play. "We haven't had an easy time, so many injuries haven't helped us. This is also why we didn't win," he stated.
Renato Veiga is one of three new signings for Juventus during the January transfer window, alongside Alberto Costa and Randal Kolo Muani. It remains uncertain if more players will join before the window closes. Motta mentioned that he hasn't discussed further transfers with the club yet.
"I have never spoken about it and I will not do so today, except to say that I am in line with the club," he added. "I am very happy with the team I have and with the boys."
Motta acknowledged that other teams have also struggled after injuries despite previous victories. He stressed the importance of hard work to overcome recent defeats and return to winning ways.
Juventus aims to overcome their current challenges by focusing on teamwork and resilience. With new signings ready to contribute, they hope to improve their performance in upcoming matches despite recent setbacks.
