Marc-Andre ter Stegen has dismissed any speculation about joining Bayern Munich after stepping into the role of Germany's first-choice goalkeeper. Manuel Neuer's retirement from international football over the summer paved the way for Ter Stegen, who has been a top performer in Europe for a decade, to finally take centre stage.
When asked if he might replace Neuer at Bayern Munich as well, Ter Stegen was clear: "I still have a long contract with my club and am very happy with my family in Catalonia." He expressed his contentment with his current situation at Barcelona.

Julian Nagelsmann confirmed on Monday that Ter Stegen, who debuted for Germany in 2012, would now be the number one goalkeeper. This announcement came ahead of Friday's Nations League match against Hungary.
Ter Stegen is thrilled to finally showcase his abilities on the international stage. "It is a different feeling altogether," he said. "My aim has always been to be number one. I am happy that the spell of waiting is now over."
The Barcelona goalkeeper reflected on his journey, acknowledging the challenges he faced while waiting for this opportunity. "To be honest there were always these moments when you say: 'Wow, that was another blow.' The decision mostly went in Manu's favour. It was disappointing, of course, but you have to live with it."
Since last season in LaLiga, excluding own goals, Ter Stegen has conceded 30 goals from 30.3 expected goals on target (xGoT) from 110 shots on target faced. This indicates that he has prevented 0.3 goals, performing roughly as expected based on the quality of attempts against him.
Ter Stegen is optimistic about his new responsibilities and what lies ahead. "I am happy about the new task, about what is to come," he stated.
The German shot-stopper believes that enduring those challenging moments was worthwhile in the end. "You should have this experience and accept it. In the end, it was worth it," he concluded.
