The finalists or the top three in seven different categories for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 were revealed by FIFA earlier this month with Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe set to go head to head for the Men's Player of the Year award.
From a 14 players shortlist for The Best FIFA Men's Player award, three finalists were selected by an international jury comprising: men's national team coaches, men's national team captains, football journalists, and fans who voted on FIFA's official website.
Like the finalists for the men's player of the year, the women's best player, best coach, best goalkeeper, Puskas award and best fans of the year awards were also revealed.
In the women's category, England's Euro 2022-winning star Beth Mead, USWNT's Alex Morgan and Barcelona's Spain star Alexia Putellas are the three finalists from the initial nominees list of 14 player.
As for coaches, Argentina's World Cup winning coach Lionel Scaloni is among the finalists for the men's award, while England's European Championship winning coach Sarina Wiegman is among the finalists for the women's award.
There were a total of 11 nominations for the Puskas award and that is also been trimmed down to three featuring astonishing goals from Marcin Oleksy, Dimitri Payet and Richarlison.
Fans awards, which had only three nominees, remains the same with some unique names. The winner for every award and the FIFPro World XIs will be announced at a Paris ceremony on 27 February 2023.
