Thiago Motta is eager to break Juventus' three-match winless streak in Serie A as they face Genoa, a club he has both played for and managed. Motta, who has secured nine points from his initial five games as Juventus' head coach, returns to Stadio Luigi Ferraris. He previously made 27 appearances for Genoa during the 2008-09 season, scoring six goals before moving to Inter.
Despite Juventus remaining unbeaten and not conceding in Europe's top five leagues, they have struggled offensively. Their last three league matches against Roma, Empoli, and Napoli ended in 0-0 draws. This could lead to an unprecedented fourth consecutive goalless draw in Serie A history. However, Motta remains unconcerned about their scoring issues.

Motta emphasised that the offensive phase involves the entire team rather than just one player. "The offensive phase is not just one player, but the whole team," he stated. He noted their progress against Napoli by controlling possession against a strong opponent. The focus is on positioning attackers and midfielders effectively to enhance performance.
Motta's tenure as Genoa's head coach in 2019 was brief, with only two wins from ten games before his dismissal. Reflecting on his time there, he expressed fondness: "I've experienced so many good moments. It was a privilege. I enjoyed it both as a player and as a coach. I'm always happy to return there," he said.
The Juventus coach stressed the importance of teamwork in achieving success. "We have to create as a team," he remarked, highlighting the need for collective effort in securing victories. Motta also mentioned that despite the desire to win every match, there are numerous factors influencing outcomes.
Motta remains optimistic about his team's prospects and insists that anxiety is not present among his players. "I have never perceived anxiety in my team," he said confidently. The ultimate aim is to secure positive results through their style of play while maintaining composure and focus.
