Paris, November 21: Former Brazil skipper Thiago Silva has revealed that he is trying to lure Philippe Coutinho away from Liverpool to join Paris Saint-Germain for a while now.

Despite under contract at Anfield until 2022, the Brazilian has attracted interest from a number of Europe's biggest clubs especially Barcelona who made three failed bids for the Liverpool number ten this summer.

The PSG skipper met up with Coutinho earlier this month for international friendlies and he used this time to convince the playmaker to leave the Reds.

Silva admitted that he is in regular contact with him and would like to see him join his fellow Brazil internationals in Paris.

Dani Alves, Neymar, Lucas Moura and Marquinhos all play for the French giants and Coutinho joining the French capital club would be a massive addition to them.

The 33-year-old told Telefoot: "I talk a lot with Coutinho.

"I hope that at the end of the season or even before, it could be a nice surprise for us.

"I hope he will think well and that next year he will work with us.

As with Neymar, I give him a lot of advice.

"But I think the most important thing for him is to make the best decision."

Coutinho is one of the biggest stars of Brazil and his union with Neymar at the club level would be good for Brazil as well. On top of that, the two golden boys of Brazilian football share a very good friendship from childhood and both have expressed their wishes of playing alongside each other a lot of times.

PSG are the latest club to register their interest, with Barcelona expected to continue their pursuit for the Brazilian next summer.

Coutinho has been in red hot form for Liverpool this season despite struggling with injuries and statistically he is the best player in the Premier League on an average ahead of Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.
