Thomas Muller expressed a sense of strangeness after playing his last match for Bayern Munich. The German club was eliminated from the Club World Cup, losing 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals. Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele scored late goals for PSG, while Harry Kane's goal was disallowed for offside after PSG was reduced to nine players.
This match marked the end of Muller's illustrious career with Bayern, having announced his departure earlier in the season. During his time at the club, he won 33 trophies, including 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League victories. Muller scored 250 goals and provided 276 assists in Munich, winning 362 out of 503 Bundesliga games.

Muller reflected on the end of his Bayern journey, saying it would take time to process their exit. "Normally, I would have to process the loss today, and I will," said Muller. He added that instead of focusing on future challenges with the team, he would be packing his bags to leave.
The defeat was tough for Bayern as both teams delivered strong performances. Muller noted that they made life difficult for PSG but ultimately missed some chances. "I personally always had the feeling that we were close [to scoring the equaliser], but a little bit was always missing," he mentioned.
The game ended chaotically with red cards affecting its fairness. Muller emphasised that good performances alone don't guarantee success. "As I've said many times, you can't buy yourself anything with just a good performance," he stated.
Bayern faced another setback when Jamal Musiala suffered a severe ankle injury after colliding with Gianluigi Donnarumma. Muller admitted it was hard to focus after seeing his teammate stretchered off. "I did not hear what exact injury he has, but stuff like this is always so incredibly tough," he added.
Muller expressed concern over Musiala's condition and wished him a speedy recovery. Vincent Kompany confirmed Musiala's hospitalisation post-match and hoped for better news despite initial reports suggesting a possible broken bone in Musiala's lower leg.
Kompany shared his frustration about the incident involving Musiala: "I've rarely been so angry at half-time, not with the players." He highlighted how important football is for young players like Musiala and expressed anger over such incidents happening to passionate athletes.
