Three Arsenal players who need to step up if Gunners want Premier League Title

Mikel Arteta’s boys have just imbibed a truckload of confidence after inflicting a 5-0 defeat on the toothless London rivals Crystal Palace at the Emirates. Recently, the Gunners’ form took a hit in the Premier League, despite playing so well but the fact that they failed to convert the chances put them on the back foot.

After a 1-1 draw at Anfield, Arsenal suffered two consecutive defeats, losing to West Ham and Fulham in the home and away fixtures respectively.

Arsenal

Those two defeats dented their confidence levels before they were knocked out by Liverpool in the FA Cup clash at home. However, they made a stellar rebound by thrashing the Eagles in the recent home fixture.

Currently, the Gunners are third on the EPL points table with 43 points from 21 games. With 17 more games to go, there is still plenty of catching up to do to make a bid for the title. Let’s now delve into the list of 3 Arsenal players who need to up the ante to help the team end the title drought.

1. Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus was deployed at Arsenal to serve as a thrusting force to the club’s attack but his plans haven’t really come to fruition completely, which has been really disappointing. He has been performing well in patches but failed to maintain good form.

Having made 16 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, he has only been able to score three goals and provide two assists, which is really low considering a player of that caliber. The Brazilian needs to up his ante in the latter half of the season to help his team end the title drought.

2. Bukayo Saka

Arsenal have been over-reliant on their star boy Bukayo Saka for the last couple of seasons. The 22-year-old England international has time and again carried the team single-handedly by scoring crucial goals in clutch moments of the game.

The young lad who performed exceptionally well in the previous season just fell short of hitting the clinical performances in the last few games for the club. Having made 20 appearances for the club this season, he scored 6 goals and assisted as many. He is one of the key players who needs to find some form.

3. Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli, who can be deployed in multiple attacking positions, is known for his tireless work rate and willingness to press opponents. Nevertheless, he failed to make his presence count in the ongoing season of the Premier League.

Having made 19 appearances for the club, the left-winger has managed to score four goals and provide two assists. He announced his form in style by scoring a brace against London rivals Crystal Palace at home recently. Martinelli will be looking forward to being a potent force in Arsenal’s attacking sector.
