Three potential Premier League clubs looking to sign Milan Skriniar on a free deal

Bengaluru, Sept. 20: Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has put clubs around Europe on high alert as according to rumours, the Inter Milan defender is likely to be available on a free deal next summer.

The Slovakia international remains one of Serie A’s most formidable center backs and at 27, he is in the prime of his career. He has made 223 appearances for Inter in all competitions till now and has amassed huge playing experience under his belt, both in the league and European stage. Inter are reportedly working hard to tie him down to a new deal but Skriniar so far has apparently rejected all the proposals.

Considering such a situation, clubs around Europe now have started circling around him knowing that he’d be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs come January 1. There have been interests from England too and these are three sides reportedly showing interest in him:

1. Manchester City

The Etihad giants are reportedly keeping their tabs open for the defender as Guardiola is still looking to improve his defence. City signed Manuel Akanji towards the end of the recently concluded summer window but they are open to the idea of buying another center-back. There is a possibility of Nathan Ake leaving the club next summer and Skriniar could arrive as his replacement.

2. Chelsea

Despite getting Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana as center-backs this summer, Chelsea are still said to be exploring the market for a new defender. With Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta on the wrong side of their 30s, the Blues are expected to add a relatively young but experienced face to the team and Skriniar's profile completely fits the bill.

3. Tottenham Hotspur

Another London-based side who are actively keeping a close eye on the situation, Spurs are also said to be interested in him. Antonio Conte is slowly revamping the whole squad and is expected to add more first-team players to the side in the upcoming windows. Skriniar is well known to Conte due to his former stint at Inter and he could use his connection in luring the player to London next.
