Three things we learned from Manchester United's win against Luton Town

Manchester United secured a hugely important 2-1 win against Luton Town away at Kenilworth Road on Sunday, February 18. While it has been a tricky away game for almost every top Premier League side, Manchester United also had their fair share of struggles but managed to grind the win.

Erik ten Hag’s side got off to an absolute flyer with red-hot Rasmus Hojllund scoring an early brace. However, Luton Town soon made it 2-1 and kept troubling the Red Devils but failed to eventually score an equalizer.

Manchester United

Manchester United will be happy to have secured all three points from a tricky fixture where they were not at their absolute best. They continue to push for a top-four spot with their recent upturn in results but still have a long way to go. Here, we will take a look at three things we learned from Manchester United’s narrow win.

Manchester United’s wait for a top-class number nine coming to an end?

Rasmus Hojlund simply cannot stop scoring as the Dane once again turned out to be the difference for his side against Luton Town. The wonderkid is looking pretty promising and seems to be the long-awaited answer to the Red Devils’ goalscoring problems.

Casemiro was lucky not to be sent off

Casemiro and cards has been almost synonymous and the Brazilian seems to be in no mood to improve on his recklessness. The former Real Madrid star could have been sent off on several occasions but the lenience of the official saw him never collect his second booking. Regardless of this, he is living on the edge too often and could have received his marching orders.

Erik ten Hag will be a relieved man

Erik ten Hag has been a worried man for months now having simply not been able to bring any kind of consistency at Manchester United. His tactics, his signings, his man management- everything has come under scrutiny. While he is still far from safe, the pressure has certainly eased off for the Dutchman following an impressuve run of results.
