Jason Tindall has stated that there is no set timeline for Eddie Howe's return to managing Newcastle United as he recovers from pneumonia. Tindall, the assistant manager, led Newcastle to a 4-1 victory over Manchester United while Howe was hospitalised. Howe will also miss upcoming matches against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Tindall is ready to continue leading the team until Howe is fully recovered.
"He's in the best possible hands and he'll be back as soon as he feels he's ready to come back 100% to lead the team," Tindall told reporters. "There is no exact timeframe. That is something we will assess day by day. He will only come back when he is ready to come back and it will be on the guidance of the people taking care of him."

Newcastle United are currently fourth in the Premier League table after securing four consecutive wins, including a triumph over Liverpool in the EFL Cup final. Their next opponents, Crystal Palace, sit in 12th place following a defeat by Manchester City. Despite this setback, Palace still have hopes of European qualification.
Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace's manager, remains focused on each game rather than long-term goals. "I'll talk about it when we achieve it," he said regarding European qualification chances. "There's nothing to talk about now." Palace face tough competition with Brighton, Fulham, and Bournemouth ahead of them in the standings.
"We have Newcastle, then Bournemouth and Arsenal coming up," Glasner added. "Again, it's good to be in this fight for these positions." The team shares points with Brentford and faces pressure from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur behind them.
Harvey Barnes has been instrumental for Newcastle recently. He has contributed to goals in his last three starts, including two against Manchester United. Barnes now boasts nine goal involvements in his past 11 league appearances.
Eberechi Eze has also been impressive for Crystal Palace. He scored against Manchester City despite their eventual loss and has been involved in eight goals over his last 11 league starts.
The previous encounter between Newcastle and Palace ended in a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park. However, Newcastle have won 18 out of their last 23 matches across all competitions since December 14th. They have scored 53 goals during this period, trailing only Liverpool (61) and Manchester City (58).
The Opta win probability suggests a strong chance for Newcastle with a 54.1% likelihood of victory compared to Palace's 22.8%. A draw stands at 23.1%. Newcastle have also lost just one of their past 12 midweek home league games.
