Arne Slot remains cautious about Liverpool's title prospects despite their current lead in the Premier League. With more than half the season remaining, Slot believes it's premature to make predictions. Liverpool leads by two points over Chelsea and has a game in hand. Since Slot's arrival, they've lost only once, to Nottingham Forest, and remain unbeaten in 11 matches.

Slot advises assessing the league standings after 19 games when all teams have faced each other once. He noted that Arsenal's early-season red cards affected their performance, while Liverpool recently experienced a similar setback. "Judge the table after 19 games [the halfway point] because then everyone has played the same opponents," Slot told reporters on Friday.

Liverpool faces Tottenham next, aiming to top the table at Christmas for the first time since 2020-21. Historically, they've only won the title once when leading at Christmas in recent years. Slot emphasizes focusing on end-of-season standings rather than mid-season positions.

Tottenham currently sits 10th after a mixed season, including a recent 5-0 victory over Southampton following a five-game winless streak. Despite this inconsistency, they are the league's second-highest scorers with 36 goals, trailing only Chelsea.

Ange Postecoglou has faced criticism this season, but Slot admires his approach and hopes he secures silverware. "It's great work that Ange is doing," said Slot. He appreciates Postecoglou's attacking style and believes it enhances football overall.

Liverpool will also face Spurs in the EFL Cup semi-final soon. Slot expressed his admiration for Tottenham's playstyle under Postecoglou and wishes success for them in the Europa League rather than domestic cups.
