Eberechi Eze Scores Twice As Crystal Palace Defeats Tottenham 2-0 In Premier League Match

Crystal Palace secured a significant 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur with Eberechi Eze scoring both goals. This win marks a Premier League double for Palace against Spurs this season.

Crystal Palace achieved a significant milestone by securing their first-ever Premier League double over Tottenham Hotspur. Eberechi Eze was the star, scoring twice to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 victory on Sunday. Eze's goals came on either side of halftime, marking his first time scoring in three consecutive league games.

The match began with Palace in control, and they thought they had taken the lead when Ismaila Sarr converted Daniel Munoz's cross. However, the goal was disallowed after a VAR review revealed Jean-Philippe Mateta was offside during the buildup. A second goal was also ruled out when Maxence Lacroix's header hit Marc Guehi's arm.

Eze's Double Leads Crystal Palace to Victory

Despite these setbacks, Palace finally broke through in the 45th minute. Munoz made a run into the area and set up Eze for a finish that put them ahead. The momentum continued into the second half as Eze scored again in the 48th minute, assisted by Sarr.

Palace nearly added another goal, but Kinsky denied Mateta's attempt from inside the box. Substitute Eddie Nketiah also saw his shot saved by the Spurs goalkeeper during stoppage time. This victory brought Palace to 49 points, matching their best Premier League tally.

Munoz was instrumental throughout the match, consistently posing a threat down the right flank. His assist for Eze's first goal increased his season tally to nine goal involvements, equalling Chris Coleman's record for a Palace defender from the 1992-93 season.

For Tottenham, this defeat marked their 20th league loss of the season, dropping them to 17th place. Despite reaching the Europa League final recently, Spurs have endured one of their worst domestic seasons, losing 24 matches across all competitions.

Eze's recent performances have been impressive as he continues to find form at this stage of the campaign. His brace against Spurs follows goals against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, making it three consecutive league matches with goals for him—a first in his career after 268 attempts.
