Ange Postecoglou praised Tottenham's impressive performance in the second half of their match against West Ham. Unlike their previous game against Brighton, Spurs dominated after halftime on Saturday. Goals from Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-min, along with an own goal by Alphonse Areola, secured a 4-1 victory. Dejan Kulusevski had earlier equalised Mohammed Kudus' opening goal.
Postecoglou acknowledged the challenge they faced in the first half. "We had to fight hard in the first half," he told BBC Sport. "Going a goal down wasn't ideal but we clawed our way back into it, and it is not easy. West Ham are a big physical side and they have got some speed as well."

In the second half, Tottenham increased their tempo and showcased quality football. They managed to take ten shots, with five on target, demonstrating their attacking prowess. Postecoglou noted that they defended well when necessary and improved their finishing.
"Second half we were outstanding," Postecoglou said. "We upped the tempo and played some quality football, defended when we needed to and got our finishing right." He expressed confidence that more goals would come if they continued creating chances.
The manager explained that no major changes were needed at halftime. Instead, they focused on maintaining intensity and putting pressure on West Ham. "It was not about changing things," he stated. "We knew there had been a bit of an arm wrestle and we always back ourselves to keep going at the intensity we always do."
James Maddison played a crucial role by assisting Kulusevski's equaliser before being substituted at halftime. Maddison became only the second Spurs player since 2003-04 to create at least five chances in a Premier League game while playing 45 minutes or fewer.
Pape Sarr replaced Maddison to provide more energy in midfield. Postecoglou highlighted Sarr's contribution: "We needed more running power in midfield and Pape [Sarr] has lots of that, bags of energy and running." This change helped Spurs gain control of the midfield, enhancing their overall play.
The match saw Mohammed Kudus become the sixth West Ham player to score and be sent off in the same Premier League game due to violent conduct late on. This incident further tilted the game's momentum in favour of Tottenham.
Reflecting on their previous match against Brighton, Postecoglou emphasised that it was only a poor first half rather than an entire game failure. He believed that maintaining consistent performance throughout matches would lead to success.
