Bengaluru, December 18: Tottenham and Everton could go head to head for Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun if reports in England are believed to be true.

Both sides are looking for more firepower in their attack and Tosun's name has been considered.

Everton, despite spending a lot of money in the summer, have struggled this season. The Toffees have managed to improve under Sam Allardyce since he took over at the club but they still need a focal point of their attack as Sandro Ramirez has failed to make any kind of impact at the Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Spurs form this season has been up and down and they could do with a striker of Tosun's caliber.

Tosun was born in Germany and represented them at youth levels but is now a Turkish international.

With four goals in as many Champions League outings this season, the forward is an Everton and Tottenham transfer target ahead of the January transfer window.

Born in the city of Wetzlar, in the state of Hesse, Tosun’s talent was identified at a young age and he joined Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tosun was a hit with the Eagles and spent 13 years at the club progressing through the various youth levels.

He had a prolific record for them scoring 20 times in 40 outings for the Under-19s and adding a further 12 in just 17 appearances for the second string.

However, despite boasting an enviable strike rate he could not force his way into the first team with any regularity.

In three seasons in and around the first-team group, Tosun managed just one substitute outing for Eintracht, playing the final 15 minutes of a 3-1 defeat at Wolfsburg in May 2010.

Then he made his move to Turkey with Gaziantepspor where he did impress and was snapped up by one of the Turkish giants Besiktas.

He was not an overnight success at Besiktas but over the years, he has grown into a brilliant striker and now he is at the top of his name and should be a hit in the Premier League too.
