Bengaluru, August 25: Spurs have started their activity in the summer transfer market pretty late this time out but as it seems, Mauricio Pochettino is looking forward to end the window on a good note.

The Lilywhites have already signed star defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax and are also said to be close to Serge Aurier and Juan Foyth.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy claim that the north London club are looking to sign Lazio forward Balde Keita Diao before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs are preparing to make a new and improved offer for Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao, however Mauricio Pochettino's side are going to face stiff competition from Italian giants Juventus for the player, according to TalkSport.

Senegalese international Diao has been trying to force a move away from the Serie A side this summer and the player has reportedly refused to train with the side in order to secure a transfer away from the club.

Juventus remain the player's first choice if he is to secure a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer however the Serie A holders are unwilling to match Lazio's asking price for the player, with the Italian champions keen to sign him for a lower fee than the one Lazio are asking for.

With Spurs ready to match the asking fee of £28million for the versatile attacker, Lazio might consider the offer as they might have to lose the youngster for free next summer.

It remains to be seen if Spurs can get the 22-year-old but if they can get this deal over the line, it will certainly be a huge boost to the Premier League runners-up in the last season.

Keita is a player who can play anywhere in the attacking third and is a proved goalscorer who can also create plenty of chances. Adding a player of his caliber would be a massive move by Pochettino.
