Tottenham Hotspur made a sorry exit from the Carabao Cup in the 2nd round after a penalty defeat against fellow London outfit Fulham.
After 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, the match went to the penalties. Fulham were excellent from the spot with Andreas Pereira, Raul Jimenez, Wilson, Joao Palhinha and Tete all able to score while Davinson Sanchez's tame effort ensured Tottenham were eliminated in the second round for the first time since 2005.

After the defeat, Tottenham boss Angie Postecoglou was quite disappointed and said the Carabao Cup was his first priority.
"We are obviously disappointed," Postecoglou said after the match. "We were not at our fluid best but that was not surprising given the changes. I liked the way we hung in there, but ultimately we could not get over the line.
"The Carabao Cup was my priority. There is no European football so how am I going to find out about my players? They are all part of the club. That doesn't mean the cup or any game isn't our priority," he added.
This was Tottenham's first defeat under the tutelage of Postecoglou as they have made a decent start in the league so far. The North London club currently have 7 points in three matches and will be taking on Burnley up next on Saturday (September 2).
