Tottenham to offer Mauricio Pochettino lucrative new deal as Real Madrid and PSG circle

London, Feb 16: Tottenham Hotspur are ready to hand their manager Mauricio Pochettino a new improved deal as a reward for his excellent display with the Spurs squad and in a bid to fend off interests from teams like Paris Saint-German and Real Madrid.

Pochettino now is been regarded as one of the most sought-after coaches in world football for his administration in turning Spurs from strugglers to a top-contender of Premier League and as well as in the Champions league despite spending very less transfer fee and promoting and trusting young talent.

The 45-year-old this term guided his team to the next round of UCL from the group of death, consisting of Dortmund and Real Madrid. His team also achieved two back to top four spot in the last two seasons in Premier League and in the second season of his, he also fought for Premier League only to lose out on Leicester City.

However, his rise to such extent has not gone unnoticed and reportedly clubs like Real Madrid and PSG both are looking at the Argentine as their next possible manager.

Madrid this season have been struggling to maintain their form and already are out of Copa Del Ray and 17 points behind leaders Barcelona. Rumours have been surfacing that should the Los Blancos sack current boss Zidane after this term, they are looking at the Spurs boss as a new inclusion.

On the other hand, PSG who are flying high at the domestic campaign could also sack their manager Emery if he again bows out of UCL in the round of 16. And these reports have now begun to surface more after he got a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Madrid this week.

Thus, seeing all these speculations and in a bid to reward their manager, the Spurs hierarchy has reportedly made an offer to their boss with a fresh new deal and ready to tie him down to a new deal so that when Spurs move into their new stadium next season, the Argentine can lead the club for the long-term.

Pochettino joined Spurs in 2014 from Southampton and signed a new five-year contract in 2016 worth £5.5m-a-year but Spurs reportedly don't want to take any risk regarding this matter and to make the manager happy and secure his service, they have reportedly decided to tie him down immediately.

Although the offer of the new contract has not yet been confirmed but it is expected that chairman Daniel Levy will surely award him an improved deal with more money package.

Apart from the manager, the board is reportedly also keen to tie down two playmakers Dele Alli and Eriksen with an improved contract and also ready to trigger the one-year extension od attacker Erik Lamela for one more season.

Spurs are currently fifth in the league table, just one point below fourth-placed Chelsea and will be up in action again this weekend against third division side Rochdale in the FA Cup.
