Kota Takai has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur, marking the club's third acquisition this summer. The 20-year-old midfielder transferred from Kawasaki Frontale for a reported fee of £5 million. He signed a five-year contract with the Europa League champions. This season, Takai has played 22 matches in Japan's top division, scoring twice as Kawasaki Frontale currently holds sixth place in the league.

Takai might make his competitive debut against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup at Stadio Friuli on August 13. Just three days later, Spurs will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Burnley.
