Tottenham Hotspur have secured the services of winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £37 million (€31.5 million). Odobert joined Burnley from Troyes last year following their promotion to the Premier League. Despite Burnley's relegation back to the Championship, Odobert was a standout performer.
Odobert's contributions were significant during his time at Burnley. He netted three goals and provided two assists in 29 Premier League appearances. His creativity was evident as he created 31 chances, only surpassed by Johann Gudmundsson (35) and Josh Brownhill (34) within the team.

The France Under-21 international also excelled in dribbling, attempting 110 dribbles and completing 53, more than any other Burnley player. Additionally, he led his teammates with 20 shot-ending carries and shared the top spot for chances created following a carry with Sander Berge, both achieving 11.
Tottenham had been exploring various winger options before finalising Odobert's transfer. Pedro Neto was among those linked but eventually moved from Wolves to Chelsea in a £60 million (€51.4 million) deal last week.
On Friday, Tottenham announced Odobert as their fifth new signing ahead of Ange Postecoglou's second season in charge. The club had already signed Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and Min-hyeok Yang earlier in the transfer window.
"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Wilson Odobert from Burnley, subject to formalities," stated Tottenham Hotspur on their official Twitter account on August 16, 2024.
Odobert has signed a five-year contract with Tottenham and will wear the number 28 shirt. His debut could come as soon as their Premier League opener against Leicester City on Monday.
In Burnley's opening Championship fixture against Luton Town on Monday, Odobert started and scored their second goal in a convincing 4-1 victory. This performance highlighted his potential impact at Tottenham.
The addition of Odobert is expected to bolster Tottenham's attacking options as they aim for a successful season under Postecoglou's leadership. Fans will be eager to see how he integrates into the squad and contributes to their campaign.
