Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Bournemouth have engaged in discussions with Tottenham regarding a potential transfer for Dominic Solanke. Ange Postecoglou is keen to secure a striker this transfer window, having not replaced Harry Kane since his departure last year. Solanke is their primary target.
Solanke featured in every match for Bournemouth last season, missing only one start. He scored a club-record 19 goals in the Premier League from 38 shots on target. His contributions extend beyond scoring, making him a crucial player for the team.

Earlier on Friday, Iraola acknowledged the ongoing talks between the clubs and emphasised how significant Solanke's absence would be for the squad. "I know that talks are ongoing," Iraola said during a press conference. "I cannot tell you much more, obviously. For us, Dom is a very, very important player, but I cannot tell you how this is going to finish."
Reports indicate that both clubs have reached an agreement, with Spurs ready to meet Solanke's £65 million release clause. This move comes as Tottenham seeks to fill the void left by Harry Kane.
Iraola highlighted Solanke's all-around game: "Probably everybody focuses on the goals he scores. He scores a big portion of our goals, but he gives us much more than goals. He's very complete."
"I've said it a lot of times that he helps us in all the phases of the games," Iraola continued. "He will be a big miss, obviously. He's someone that has been very involved; he played all the games last season, he scored a lot of goals."
If Solanke departs, Bournemouth will need to adapt quickly. Iraola expressed confidence in the club's ability to handle such changes: "If this happens, it has happened in other positions. We have to trust the people inside the club, and I am sure they will be ready."

The potential transfer of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham marks a significant moment for both clubs. While Spurs aim to bolster their attacking options, Bournemouth faces the challenge of replacing a key player who has been instrumental in their recent successes.
