Trent Alexander-Arnold Has Earned The Right To Choose His Next Move, Says Harry Kewell

Harry Kewell believes Trent Alexander-Arnold deserves to decide his future, potentially leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid. With numerous accolades at Liverpool, Kewell argues that Alexander-Arnold has earned this opportunity.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's potential move to Real Madrid should not be met with criticism from Liverpool fans, according to Harry Kewell. The former Liverpool midfielder believes Alexander-Arnold has earned the right to choose his next club after achieving significant success at Anfield. Kewell feels that the defender would seamlessly adapt to life at Santiago Bernabeu.

Since debuting for Liverpool in 2016, Alexander-Arnold has won numerous trophies, including the Champions League and Premier League. His recent goal against Leicester City brought Liverpool closer to another league title. Despite his contributions, some fans are unhappy about his uncertain future at the club.

Kewell Supports Alexander-Arnold's Next Move

Kewell, who also enjoyed success with Liverpool, supports Alexander-Arnold's decision if he chooses a new challenge. "I'm probably not going to win a lot of fans with this, but I think Trent has done amazing things at Liverpool," Kewell stated. He acknowledges the player's achievements and respects his desire for a fresh start.

Moving to Real Madrid would present new challenges for Alexander-Arnold. However, Kewell believes he is well-prepared for the pressure due to his experience at Anfield. "Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but he's not going to a smaller club; he's going to Real Madrid," Kewell noted.

Alexander-Arnold's ability on the field is undeniable. Since his Premier League debut in December 2016, he leads defenders in assists (64) and total goal involvements (82). His creativity is unmatched, having created 514 chances in the league.

Offensive Strengths and Defensive Trade-offs

Kewell praises Alexander-Arnold's attacking prowess but acknowledges defensive limitations. "There's a trade-off. Defensively, he's not a natural defender, but what he gives you in attack is outstanding," Kewell explained. The presence of Virgil van Dijk has allowed him more freedom to advance forward.

The full-back's recent left-footed volley marked his 23rd goal for Liverpool and showcased his versatility. His passing range and crossing ability have been instrumental in Liverpool's success over the years.

Kewell understands fans' frustration but emphasises that Alexander-Arnold has achieved everything possible with Liverpool. He believes it's fair for him to consider new opportunities abroad if desired.

"To virtually win everything possible... that's phenomenal," Kewell remarked about Alexander-Arnold's career so far. The defender's journey reflects dedication and skill, making any future decisions understandable given his accomplishments.
