Thomas Tuchel, the manager of England, anticipates that Liverpool and Arsenal will benefit in the Premier League by not participating in this summer's Club World Cup. The revamped tournament is scheduled from June 14 to July 13 across various locations in the United States. Chelsea and Manchester City are the only English teams competing, having secured their spots through Champions League victories.
The tournament allocates 12 out of 32 spots to European clubs. Four slots are reserved for Champions League winners from 2020-2021 to 2023-24, while eight are for other top-performing teams. Tuchel believes this new format will significantly impact Premier League teams involved. "I think it [the Club World Cup] will have a huge impact, and it will give Liverpool and Arsenal a huge advantage in the next season to not be there," Tuchel stated.

Tuchel expressed mixed feelings about the competition. He acknowledged it would be a valuable experience for players participating for the first time but noted concerns about player rest. "The games are not the problem. It's just the amount of time it occupies with the players, and they need some rest in this calendar, which they hardly get," he explained.
Despite these concerns, players like Harry Kane, Cole Palmer, and Jude Bellingham remain eager to participate in both the Club World Cup and their national team duties. "They all want to play," Tuchel added. "There is not one player who says they want to be on the bench and save themselves for the Club World Cup. They are hungry to play."
Chelsea faces Los Angeles FC, Flamengo, and Esperance Tunis from Tunisia in their group stage matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City is set to compete against Morocco's Wydad, Al-Ain from the UAE, and Juventus from Serie A. Both English clubs will play at least three matches each, with a possibility of seven if they reach the final.
The tournament promises an exciting challenge for Chelsea and Manchester City as they navigate through their respective groups. The experience gained could prove beneficial despite concerns over player fatigue due to a packed schedule.
