Portugal's Euro 2024 journey started with a victory but not before an enormous struggle against Czech Republic.
An own goal and then a 92nd-minute goal from 21-year-old Porto winger Chico Conceicao earned them the three points, which was uncharacteristic and disappointing for Cristiano Ronaldo's team.

They are set to take on Turkey today (Saturday, June 22) in another crucial match of Group F. The winner of this team will advance to the round of 16 and that is a massive impetus for both sides.
Cristiano Ronaldo came to the Euros with a rich vein of form but was largely underwhelming in the last match. He had 5 shots and missed a glorious opportunity, signifying the need for his return to goal-scoring form as they play Turkey. The Portugal captain will also be aiming to get his scoring boots on against Turkey as the 39-year-old hasn't found the net against the Turks in his last three appearances.
Apart from Ronaldo, Rafael Leao also had a poor game and the youngster is likely to be benched for this match. It is to be seen if Chico Conceicao is given a start after his inspiring performance in the last match.
Roberto Martinez went with a three-man defense as Nuno Mendes played as a part of the back three. But Goncalo Inacio can come into the place while Mendes may be deployed as a left wing-back. Joao Cancelo may also return to his right wing-back role. The 41-year-old centre back Pepe had played the full 90 minutes and had an excellent match, which means the veteran is set to keep his place for the upcoming match as well.
