Bengaluru, Nov 24: Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has officially announced his retirement from professional football.

The talismanic midfielder had played over 700 matches for Liverpool scoring 191 goals in total. He had earned 114 international caps for England.

After spending 18 seasons at Liverpool, Steven Gerrard had left the club in 2015 to join Major League Soccer side La Galaxy.

As Gerrard calls it a day, fans around the world poured in their farewell wishes on Twitter.
