It will be down to 16 teams in the 2023-24 season of UEFA Champions League (UCL) as the group stage reaches conclusion with matchday 6 fixtures during this week on Tuesday (December 12) and Wednesday (December 13).
12 teams have already confirmed their berth for UCL Round of 16, while 4 spots will be decided on the final matchday of the group stage as the likes of Manchester United, PSG, Milan and Newcastle are among teams fighting for the remaining spots.

Most teams confirmed their spots in the last 16 as early as matchday 4 or matchday 5 with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund among 12 clubs that booked their berths early.
With 4 more spots up for grabs, here is a look at the teams that can seal their spots and how they can do that in the final matchday of the group stage as some teams also need to confirm their position in their respective groups for the draw:
The 8 group winners will be drawn with the 8 group runners up, giving the group toppers an advantage heading into the two-legged round of 16 matches that will be played next year. Here is a look at the 12 teams that have qualified for UCL round of 16:
Qualified for UCL 2023-24 round of 16: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven, Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Real Sociedad, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Lazio.
The teams position and progress will decided based on the following if two or three teams finish the group stage on the same number of points, goals scored, goal difference, number of wins, etc.:
While Groups B, D, E and G are decided, one team each has confirmed their spot from Group A, C, F and H with the other team from the respective groups likely battling for the spot with one or two teams on the final matchday. Here is a look at the scenario for the remaining four spots:
Bayern Munich has won the group, while Manchester United (4 Points), Galatasaray (5 points) and FC Kobenhaven (5 points) are fighting for the runner up spot. What's the scenario for all three teams?
Manchester United: The Premier League giants, who are at the foot of the table, will first of all need to beat Bayern Munich in their final group stage match and also hope Galatasaray vs Kobenhaven ends in a draw. A victory for either team or a defeat to United means Erik Ten Hag's men will be knocked out of UCL.
Galatasaray and Kobenhaven: The Turkish side need to win their match against Kobenhaven to confirm their second-place finish in Group A. The Danish side, on the other hand, can progress to the round of 16 with a win or even a draw if Man United lose or draw their match.
Record champions Real Madrid has already won the group, while Napoli (7 points) and Braga (4 points) compete for the second place finish in the group in their final group stage match. What's the scenario in Group C?
Napoli: The Serie A champions will claim second position with a win, draw or one-goal defeat at home to Braga. A defeat by more than a 1-goal margin will see Napoli finish third.
Braga: The Portuguese club must win by more than a 2-goal margin when they are away to Napoli to finish in second place. If they fail to do that, they will have to settle for a Europa League spot.
Borussia Dortmund have sealed their spot, but are yet to confirm their top spot in the group, which they can do with a win or a draw in the final group match, while PSG (7 points), Newcastle (5 points) and Milan (5 points) fight for the other spot from the group. What's Group C scenario?
PSG: The French champions need to beat Borussia Dortmund away from home in their final group stage match to win Group F and book their spot in the UCL round of 16.
PSG can also go through with a draw, but then they will need AC Milan to win or draw vs Newcastle. The French giants can also go through even if they lose to Dortmund, but only if Newcastle vs AC Milan is a draw.
Newcastle: The Premier League side first of all need to beat Milan and then will need PSG to draw or lose their match against Dortmund to take the second spot in Group F. If Newcastle win and PSG draw, the English side will take the second spot due to their head-to-head record.
Milan: The Serie A giants need to win and hope PSG lose to progress as the runner up of Group F. If Milan win and PSG draw, the French club will take second spot due to their head-to-head record in group stage.
Barcelona have confirmed their spot, but are yet to win the group, which they can manage with a victory or a draw in their final group stage match or if the other two - FC Porto (9 points) and FC Shakhtar (9 points) draw their match. What's the scenario in Group H?
FC Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk: The Portuguese giant, who won the first meeting of the sides, will claim second spot with a win or draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, who must win to progress.
