UEFA Champions League: AC Milan vs Anderlecth Preview

Milan, Sep 18: After losing two in three matches in Serie A, AC Milan begin their European campaign against Belgian champions Anderlecth in Group C at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan on Tuesday.

Anderlecth have never won against Italian opponents but coach Jon van der Brom has said his side must adapt to the way Milan plays and asked his players to show full commitment to get the best result out of this game.

Playing in their fourth consecutive UEFA Champions League campaign, the seven-time champions AC Milan lost two home games in a row in the domestic league. Shock defeats to Sampdoria and Atalanta.

Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo will not be risked for this clash despite recovering from injury and training with the first team on Sunday. As well as Brazilian attacking duo Robinho and Alexandre Pato are still injured.

Under pressure from the latest results, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri will opt for Stephan El Shaarawy and Giampaolo Pazzini in attack while Antonio Nocerino and Massimo Ambrosini will be recalled in midfield.

Meanwhile, Jon van der Brom has no fresh injury concerns but Belgian player of the season Matias Suarez was not included in the Champions League squad after undergoing knee surgery.
