The UEFA Champions League returns for its 6th Game Week on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 36 teams in action will be aiming to progress to the knockout stages as 24 teams will advance to the next round.
Out of those 24, the top Eight teams will directly qualify for the Round of 16, while the teams placed from 9th to 24th will have to undergo a playoff stage in order to progress to Round of 16.

Two European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are in the competition and are in contention to make it to the next round. Although Barcelona and Real Madrid's progression can be pre-empted as imperative, things haven't been smooth for the latter in this Champions League campaign so far.
Real Madrid are currently placed 24th in the points table with 6 points in five matches. Barcelona, on the other hand, are placed 3rd in the table with 12 points in five matches.
To secure spots in the UEFA Champions League knockouts, Real Madrid need around 10-12 points by the end of their eight league-stage matches. Direct progression to the Round of 16 will require accumulating 15 to 16 points.
If Madrid finish between 9th and 24th in the standings, they will have to compete in two-legged playoffs to secure their places in the knockouts. To avoid this scenario, winning their remaining matches is crucial to staying in the top eight and advancing directly.
The upcoming fixtures are critical for Real Madrid as they look to strengthen their positions in the group. Dropped points could force them to rely on the outcomes of other teams, which is far from ideal.
Their next challenge is an away game against Atalanta, followed by a home match against Salzburg. They will then wrap up the group stage with crucial away fixtures in France against Stade Brest.
Three Wins: Winning all three of their remaining matches will guarantee Real Madrid places in the top eight, securing direct qualification to the Round of 16.
Two Wins: If Madrid manage to win two out of their final three matches, they should secure playoff spots comfortably, with an outside chance of direct progression depending on other results.
One Win: In the scenario where Madrid win just one match, they will need at least two draws from the other fixtures to finish in the top 24 and avoid elimination.
Madrid's ability to deliver strong performances in these decisive fixtures will ultimately determine their paths in the tournament.
Barcelona are positioned comfortably at the moment. With three matches to go, a point would ensure their qualification to the next stage, but to ensure a place in Top Eight, Blaugrana will need a victory.
Barcelona's immediate UCL fixture is a trip to Borussia Dortmund. Then they will play away at Benfica and finish off the group stages with a home match against Italian club Atalanta.
If Barcelona win two out of their last three matches and manage a stalemate in the other, they will surely end up among the Top Eight places. Even six points out of the last three matches may be enough for a direct passage to Round of 16.
The only way Barcelona can be thwarted from the Top Eight is if they manage less than three points in their last three matches. In terms of the qualification for the Top 24, a point would ensure Barcelona's progression to the playoffs, at least.
