The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw took place on Friday (February 21) at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich were among the teams who learned their opponents for the upcoming round, while the potential quarterfinals and semifinals draw also took place.

Before the Round of 16, the UEFA Champions League knockout phase has delivered unexpected outcomes, notably the elimination of Italian powerhouses AC Milan and Juventus by Dutch clubs Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven, respectively. Paris Saint-Germain dominated Stade Brest with a staggering 10-0 aggregate victory, while Real Madrid ousted Manchester City with consecutive wins. Bayern Munich narrowly advanced past Celtic, and Benfica edged out AS Monaco in a tightly contested matchup. Additionally, Club Brugge and Borussia Dortmund secured their spots in the Round of 16.

From the playoff stages this season, the same country protection has been lifted which means clubs from the same country can face each other in the Round of 16 as well.

Arsenal will be up against Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, while the defending champions Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool, who finished at the top in group stages, are set to lock horns against PSG, whereas Barcelona will be up against Benfica.

The first leg will be played on March 4 and 5, while the second leg will be played on March 11 and 12.
