It was en enthralling night in the UEFA Nations League as the second leg of the quarterfinals concluded in a dramatic fashion.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal took on Denmark and played out a seven-goal game while France had to their two-goal deficit against Croatia. Germany were up against Italy after an away lead while Spain had a tough task against the Netherlands.

In a pulsating quarterfinal clash, Portugal emerged victorious over Denmark with a 5-2 win after extra time, securing their spot in the semifinals.

The match was a roller-coaster of emotions, with both teams displaying attacking prowess. After 3-2 in 90 minutes, Portugal managed to break the deadlock in extra time with two goals, with Ramos scoring a crucial goal in the 116th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo also found the net in the match. Denmark had a 1-0 lead from the first leg but it was Portugal who emerged victorious with a 5-3 aggregate scoreline.

France vs Croatia

France and Croatia faced off in a tightly contested match that ended 2-0 in favour of France after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout to decide the winner. Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembele scored the goals to wipe out the two-goal deficit from the first leg.

The penalty shootout further tested the nerves of both teams, but France's clinical finishing ensured their progression to the semifinals as Mike Maignan made a few superb saves. In the end, France won 7-6 in the penalties and have now progressed to the semifinals.

Spain vs Netherlands

Arguably one of the most exhilarating matches of the quarterfinals, Spain and the Netherlands played out a 3-3 draw, with the game eventually being decided by penalties. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring for Spain with an early penalty, but the Netherlands responded with goals from Memphis Depay and Maatsen. Spain's young talent, Lamine Yamal, made a significant impact by scoring a stunning goal in extra time, but Xavi Simons ensured the match went to penalties with a late equalizer. It was superb in the shootout as well but Spain won 5-4 as Pedri scored the decisive spot kick.

Germany vs Italy

In a high-octane encounter, Germany and Italy played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Germany's first-half performance was dominant, racing to a 3-0 lead by halftime. A notable moment was Musiala's goal, which came from a quickly taken corner by Joshua Kimmich, catching the Italian defense off guard. The Azzurris launched a second-half comeback with three superb goals but they left it too late as the first leg defeat at home ousted them with a 4-5 aggregate score.

UEFA Nations League: When are the Semifinals and Who Faces Who?

The semifinals will be played on June 4 and June 5 and they will be a one-off encounter. Both semifinals will take place in Germany and the Final will be on June 8. Germany will meet Portugal while Spain face France.
