UEFA Team of the Year 2016: Maximum players from La Liga nominated

La Liga players dominate the list as 19 out of the listed 40 players are from the Spanish league.

La Liga players dominate the list as 19 out of the listed 40 players are from the Spanish league. The other players are from English Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and one player from Premeira Division.

Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio makes the cut for the first time in his career. Owing to Portugal's triumph at the Euro 2016, Patricio has been nominated.

As usual La Liga superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale, Neymar, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann have all been named in the list.


Here are all the nominees for the UEFA Team of the Year Award
