London, July 14 : An incredible 150 million pounds has already been forked out in the form of Premier League transfer fees, and sources within the British football fraternity, expect last year's record 500 million pound spending barrier to fall by the wayside.
According to The Sun, six clubs have yet to plunge into the transfer market, but there are already deals worth hundreds of millions in the pipeline, with the promise of plenty more to come.
Tottenham has already forked out 29.9 million pounds on five new stars.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has spent 24.2 million pounds on Barcelona's Deco and Porto's Jose Bosingwa.
So far the transfer traffic has been all one way with a glut of foreigners coming into the Premier League.
But the summer could see some of English football's biggest names heading abroad for a new challenge.
Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo may head for Real Madrid for 75 million pounds, but there is still a question mark over this move.
Chelsea's Frank Lampard may go to Inter Milan for nine million pounds, while Didier Drogba may go to the same club for 22 million pounds. Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor may go to AC Milan for 22 million pounds.
