Buenos Aires, Jul 23: Uruguay will be aiming to win their 15th Copa America title by beating Paraguay in the Jul 24 final at the Monumental. If they do manage to do that, then they will go one better than Argentina who have also won the trophy 14 times.

And understandably, the new generation of footballers from this tiny South American nation are trying to give their best shot at reclaiming the silverware.

Uruguay's midfielder Egidio Arevalo Rios, was quoted by Reuters as saying, "I think we face a great moment. After a long process of (2010) World Cup qualifiers, the (2010) finals and the Copa America, it would be good to crown it with the cup."

He added, "The effort we made against Argentina was enormous but for this (final), it will be double."

It is not as if they are an under-fancied team for winning the trophy, because as early as in 2010 they finished fourth in the FIFA World Cup held at South Africa. Even in this edition of the Copa America, they have beaten more fancied oppositions like Argentina en route to the finals, but the players are quite happy to be termed as the underdogs for the clash.

Arevalo Rios was quoted as saying, "Lots of teams started out as favourites and today they are out. It's not a question of being favourites; you've got to show it on the pitch..No one started well but from the third match (in the group phase), all began to show their best form and will to win the cup. It's been a very hard fought, even cup."

Given the fact that their opponents in the title clash - Paraguay, have not won a single match in the tournament and are in the finals on the basis of penalty shootouts, it is now upto the Uruguan strikers to make early inroads and in the process, avoid taking the match into the penalties.
