London, Jun 10: The world knows about Usain Bolt as a lightning quick athlete who is referred to as the fastest man but if he has his way, then he would prefer to don Manchester United colours and play competitive football.

The 24-year old Jamaican believes he has got that in him to wow the Old Trafford, in the manner he did in Beijing when he established the record for the fastest to run 100 metres and won the gold medal.

He was quoted by the BBC as saying, "I really want to try soccer after I retire because I've watched football over the years and I think I could be a good contender. I'm really looking forward to it and yes, I definitely think I'm good enough to play for Manchester United. I'm good enough because I"m quick, I have a little skill - I have to refine it a little bit but I should be good enough."

Bolt holds the record for covering the distance of 100 metre in just 9.58 seconds.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the Diamond League 200m race in Oslo, Norway which he won comfortably.

Brushing aside the wet conditions in the Norwegian capital, the 24-year old Jamaican clocked 19.86 seconds to complete the race. He was only five-hundredths of a second outside the world record for 200 metres race held by Frankie Fredericks.

He was also 0.5 seconds ahead of Jaysuma Saidy Ndure who ended up at the second place.
