Ruud Van Nistelrooy Acknowledges Leicester City Fans' Frustration After Seventh Consecutive Loss

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy accepts the frustration of fans after a seventh straight Premier League defeat. The team struggled offensively and faced criticism for their performance against Fulham.

Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledges the frustration of Leicester City fans following their seventh consecutive Premier League loss. The Foxes were defeated 2-0 by Fulham at King Power Stadium, with goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore. This marks only the fourth time in their history that Leicester has lost seven league games in a row.

Leicester's recent form has seen them fail to score in four straight home league matches for the first time since September 1983. Under Van Nistelrooy, they have drawn a blank in five of nine Premier League games, compared to just one under Steve Cooper and Ben Dawson earlier this season.

Van Nistelrooy Addresses Leicester Fans' Anger

The match statistics highlighted Leicester's struggles, as they managed only eight shots worth 0.47 expected goals, while Fulham had 17 shots with an xG of 2.19. Despite having four shots on target, Leicester couldn't find the net, whereas Fulham scored with both of their shots on target.

Van Nistelrooy, who took over from Steve Cooper in November, understands the fans' dissatisfaction. "You have to accept it, and I am," he stated. He explained that substitutions are made to impact the game positively and are not always well-received by the crowd.

Currently sitting 19th in the table with four points, Leicester is two points behind Wolves in 17th place. Wolves will play Chelsea on Monday. In Premier League matches under Van Nistelrooy, Leicester has scored only seven goals.

Facing Challenges Ahead

"[It] was extremely disappointing because it wasn't good enough in all aspects of the game," Van Nistelrooy commented after the match. He noted that there was more effort shown during their previous loss to Crystal Palace than against Fulham.

Van Nistelrooy emphasized that results are painful but insisted that his team must address deficiencies affecting their performance. "We have to deal with it," he said. "We cannot change it." He stressed the importance of performing well to gain crowd support.

Leicester's next challenge is an away match against Tottenham in the Premier League. The team aims to improve its performance and climb out of the relegation zone as they continue their campaign.
