Carsley remains optimistic about the team's progress as they prepare to face the Republic of Ireland at home on Sunday. "It represents that we are moving in the right direction," he told ITV. "We won't get too carried away; we have a big game on Sunday at Wembley."

Carsley's squad included three debutants: Curtis Jones, Morgan Rogers, and Lewis Hall. Jones impressed with a backheel flick goal that captivated spectators. The Liverpool midfielder was outstanding throughout the match, recording 86 touches and achieving perfect passing accuracy in the final third. "Curtis Jones is an outstanding player," Carsley praised. "He played really well, even without his goal."
