Vinicius Junior celebrated a significant achievement at The Best FIFA Football Awards, an event that once seemed out of reach when he first joined Real Madrid. The Brazilian winger was honoured as The Best FIFA Men's Player for 2024. Despite missing out on the Ballon d'Or to Rodri and boycotting the ceremony with his teammates, Vinicius found a different atmosphere in Doha.
His recognition came alongside Carlo Ancelotti, who was named The Best FIFA Men's Coach. Vinicius expressed gratitude towards Ancelotti, acknowledging his role in his growth over six and a half years in Spain. "It seemed impossible to get to this point and it is very important for me," Vinicius said. "I want to thank everyone who voted for me: coaches, players and journalists."

Vinicius' frustration with the Ballon d'Or process followed a stellar season where he led Madrid to LaLiga and Champions League victories. He netted 24 goals across all competitions, including a decisive strike in the 2-0 European final win against Borussia Dortmund. His performance underscored his value to the team.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino supported Vinicius by highlighting FIFA's voting process as transparent and inclusive. "If you want to know who is the best in the world, it has to be through FIFA," Infantino stated, subtly critiquing the Ballon d'Or's approach.
Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham praised Vinicius' contribution to the team, saying, "If he has won it, I totally agree. He helps the team a lot." Bellingham expressed happiness for Vinicius' well-deserved recognition.
The club's president Florentino Perez and CEO Jose Angel Sanchez were also acknowledged by Vinicius for their support since he was 16. He reaffirmed his commitment to Real Madrid, calling it "the best club in the world" and expressing his desire to continue playing there for many years.
This award marks a significant milestone in Vinicius' career, reflecting both personal growth and professional success at one of football's most prestigious clubs.
