Vinicius Junior Aims To Extend His Real Madrid Contract Beyond 2027

Vinicius Junior is eager to remain with Real Madrid past the expiration of his current contract in 2027. Since joining from Flamengo, he has become a vital player for Los Blancos, contributing to three LaLiga titles and two Champions League victories. Despite rumours linking him to a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League, Vinicius envisions his future at Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking before Real Madrid's Champions League last-16 match against Atletico Madrid, Vinicius expressed his contentment with the club. "I'm calm because I have a contract until 2027 and I hope I renew as soon as possible," he stated. "I'm happy here, with the best coach, with the best fans, they all love me and I'm not going to be better anywhere else than here."

In this season's Champions League, Vinicius has been directly involved in nine goals over eight matches, scoring seven and assisting two. He aims to achieve double figures in goal involvements for the fourth consecutive tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo is the only other player who has managed this feat for Madrid across four seasons.

Last year, many expected Vinicius to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or after his crucial goal in Madrid's Champions League final victory over Borussia Dortmund. However, he finished second to Manchester City's Rodri. This outcome led Madrid to boycott the awards ceremony, but Vinicius remains unfazed by the snub.

Los Blancos have progressed or won on each occasion. This historical rivalry adds an extra layer of excitement to their upcoming clash.

Reflecting on his Ballon d'Or experience, Vinicius said: "People vote for what they believe. I have my thoughts." He added that while he never dreamed of winning it, being close made him believe it was possible. He remains focused on winning more European Cups with Real Madrid.

When asked about skipping the awards ceremony, Vinicius explained: "I just do what the club tells me; they asked me to stay away and I was calm." His commitment to following club directives underscores his loyalty and dedication.
