Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that discussions are underway between his representatives and Liverpool regarding a new contract. The defender, who transferred from Southampton to Liverpool in January 2018, is among three key players whose contracts expire soon, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah. Van Dijk has played 280 matches for Liverpool across all competitions, securing numerous titles including the Premier League and Champions League.

Van Dijk has adapted well under new manager Arne Slot, contributing significantly to Liverpool's defensive strength.
