Vitor Pereira expressed concerns about the refereeing in Wolves' 2-1 loss to Liverpool, but he attributed their defeat to a poor first-half performance. Wolves were down 2-0 at halftime after Luis Diaz scored and Mohamed Salah converted a penalty. Despite their frustration, Wolves saw Ibrahima Konate avoid dismissal before being substituted at halftime by Arne Slot.
Konate received a yellow card for pulling back Matheus Cunha and then kicked the ball away after the whistle. He avoided a second yellow despite a late challenge on Cunha, leading Pereira to question Simon Hooper's officiating. "I had some doubts on some decisions, but I cannot change the decisions," Pereira stated post-match. "It's football."

Wolves have now lost their last ten Premier League matches against teams starting the day in the top four, conceding 23 goals and scoring only four. This defeat was particularly tough as Wolves dominated towards the end of the match when Hooper blew the final whistle.
Pereira acknowledged Wolves' improved second-half performance, noting Liverpool failed to register a shot in that period at Anfield for the first time since records began in 2003-04. Despite Matheus Cunha's brilliant curling goal in the 67th minute, it wasn't enough to turn the game around.
Reflecting on this improvement, Pereira lamented their dismal first half. "The lesson is we are the team that I saw in the second half," he said. "The first half was a team afraid, with too much respect, in my opinion."
Pereira emphasised his desire for Wolves to play with identity and quality. "I want to win games with merit," he added. "I want to win games because we deserve to win." He plans to push his team to replicate their second-half display in future matches.
Pereira remains focused on upcoming challenges, aiming for his team to play confidently from start to finish. "We cannot come to Anfield just to be part of the party," he remarked. His goal is for Wolves to consistently perform as they did in the latter half against Liverpool.
Despite this setback, Pereira is optimistic about building on their second-half showing and improving results against top-tier teams.
