Kyle Walker Willing To Sacrifice Premier League Title For Tottenham Trophy

Kyle Walker stated he would give up a Premier League title to win a trophy with Tottenham. Reflecting on his time at Spurs, he emphasised the significance of their recent Europa League victory.

Kyle Walker expressed a deep desire to have won a trophy with Tottenham Hotspur, even suggesting he would trade one of his Premier League titles with Manchester City for such an achievement. Walker, who transferred from Spurs to City in 2017 for a reported £50 million, has since secured 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory.

Walker joined Tottenham from Sheffield United in 2009 and made 229 appearances across all competitions. His closest attempt at winning silverware with Spurs came during the 2014-15 season when they reached the EFL Cup final but were defeated by Chelsea at Wembley Stadium. Reflecting on Tottenham's recent success, Walker shared his thoughts on the Kyle Walker Podcast.

Walker Would Trade Title for Spurs Trophy

Tottenham ended their long wait for a trophy in May by defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final, thanks to Brennan Johnson's decisive goal. Walker praised this victory, stating, "I'd probably give up one Premier League to win that [the Europa League] with Tottenham." He added that being part of the squad that broke the club's trophy drought since 2007 would have been significant.

Walker also spoke highly of Son Heung-min, his former teammate and current Spurs captain. Recalling Son's arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, Walker said, "I remember him walking through the door from Leverkusen; it was like a rabbit in headlights." He admired Son's journey from being close to winning numerous finals to finally achieving success.

Walker's own career at Manchester City is currently uncertain. After spending part of the season on loan at AC Milan, he was excluded from City's Club World Cup squad. With only one year remaining on his contract at Etihad Stadium, Turkish club Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, is reportedly interested in acquiring him.

The defender's reflections highlight both personal achievements and unfulfilled aspirations. Despite his success with Manchester City, Walker cherishes the idea of contributing to Tottenham's historic moments. His admiration for former teammates and thoughts on future prospects add depth to his narrative.
