Cristiano Ronaldo kept his promise to iShowSpeed despite Portugal's elimination

Cristiano Ronaldo gifted popular YouTuber and streamer iShowSpeed a pair of his limited-edition, game-worn boots following Portugal's FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, despite the pair originally being intended for a potential quarter-final appearance.

The heartwarming exchange took place during iShowSpeed's livestream from the Spain vs Belgium quarter-final in Los Angeles, where he revealed Ronaldo had sent him the Mercurial Superfly 11 "CR7 Gold Scorpion" boots worn during the tournament.

According to iShowSpeed, Ronaldo had planned to hand over the boots if Portugal had advanced to the quarter-finals. However, after Portugal's Round of 16 elimination to Spain, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner decided to gift them anyway.

The streamer also revealed that the special edition boots are extremely rare, with only two pairs believed to remain.

The gift came just days after Ronaldo confirmed that Portugal's 1-0 defeat to Spain marked the end of his FIFA World Cup career.

The 41-year-old finished his sixth and final World Cup with 11 goals across tournament history, including three goals at the 2026 edition.

"Well, it's normal to be sad to leave the World Cup like this," Ronaldo said after the defeat.

"I gave it my all. I gave my best and I leave with a clear conscience."

While confirming it was his final World Cup, Ronaldo stopped short of announcing his retirement from international football.

"I will finish when I decide to finish," he said.

"Whether I am playing or not, I will always have an important role with this national team."

Ronaldo made his Portugal debut in 2003 and has since become the country's all-time leading scorer with 146 goals in 233 international appearances, helping Portugal win Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League in 2019 and 2025, although a FIFA World Cup title ultimately eluded him.
