Bristol City and Watford ended their match in a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road, missing the chance to climb into the Championship play-off spots. Both teams scored early, with Scott Twine equalising Marc Bola's opener. The goalkeepers were pivotal in the second half, making crucial saves to maintain the scoreline.
Marc Bola gave Watford an early lead by finishing neatly under Radek Vitek after receiving a precise pass from Imran Louza. Vitek then denied Edo Kayembe as Watford sought a second goal. However, Bristol City levelled when Twine's curling free-kick caught Egil Selvik off guard at the near post.

Selvik redeemed himself later by saving Anis Mehmeti's shot with his left hand. Bola almost scored again but saw his close-range attempt deflect wide. Sinclair Armstrong was also thwarted by Selvik after being set up by Twine, while Vitek stopped Othmane Maamma's shot following a corner.
Watford aimed for a fifth consecutive home victory in the Championship, having won their first two matches at Vicarage Road since Javi Gracia's return. They had more chances overall, with 1.39 expected goals compared to Bristol City's 0.69. Eleven of Watford's 16 shots came from inside the box, with ten on target.
Vitek was instrumental for Bristol City, making nine saves to secure a point for his team. Only Sheffield Wednesday’s Pierce Charles has made more saves in a Championship game this season, with 11 against Leicester City.
The draw leaves Bristol City seventh in the table with 23 points, just outside the top six due to goal difference. Watford trails closely behind by one point. Neither team could find a late winner despite their efforts.
Both teams will look to build on this result as they continue their campaigns in pursuit of higher league positions.
