Kohlapur, November 25: With big aspirations and the drive to achieve them, the Indira Gandhi Academy for Education & Sports has come to Kolhapur with a zeal to win the Indian Women’s League. Head Coach Amruta Aravind too made it clear on how they 'have to win’.

“We have to win. We don’t have anything else on our minds other than qualifying for the Final Round of the IWL”, declared Aravind.

Preparations started more than a month back with the girls taking part in a camp back home in Pondicherry. “We held a camp and chose our team based on the preparedness and performances of the players. I’m looking forward to the matches”, Aravind said, sounding very confident about her team.

The coach who also happens to be the Head Coach of the Kerala state Women’s team emphasised on the importance of having experienced players in the side, “The club has brought in a few players from nearby Kerala, Bengaluru and Bihar with a couple of them even having played for India. Their experience and guidance will surely help the younger lot”.

With a round robin format where only the group topper makes it through, the tough challenge that lies ahead is not lost on Aravind. “Yes it will be tough. One mistake or a loss can make things tough for you. But we had qualified last year (as Jeppiaar Institute FC) so we know how to get it done”, she quips.

“Yes there are teams who can be challenging to play against but we are ready for them. For us it is the 3 points that counts”, signed off the Coach.
