West Ham 4-0 Wolves: Dominant Win Repositions Tottenham In Relegation Zone
West Ham eased Premier League relegation fears with a 4-0 home win over Wolves, a result that also drags Tottenham into the bottom three. Valentin Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos both struck twice in a decisive display that turned a tense contest into a heavy defeat for Wolves, who could now be relegated as early as next weekend.
The victory lifts West Ham to 17th place, two points ahead of Spurs and level with Nottingham Forest but behind on goal difference. Wolves sit 15 points adrift of safety with only 18 points still available, leaving survival hopes relying on other results as much as their own form across the closing weeks.

West Ham will spend a night outside the relegation zone for just the second time in 2026, having previously climbed above the line on March 14. Tottenham, by contrast, will end the day in the bottom three for the first time since August 8, 2015, when Spurs slipped into danger after their opening match of the 2015-16 Premier League season.
Nuno Espirito Santo's West Ham side have gathered momentum since mid-January, winning five of the last 11 Premier League fixtures, with three draws and three defeats. Since this sequence began with a victory away at Tottenham on January 17, only Manchester United, with 23 points, and Arsenal, with 21, have collected more league points than West Ham's 18.
The scoreline reflected both West Ham's control and ruthlessness. West Ham attempted 18 shots compared with 14 for Wolves, and the hosts produced 1.68 expected goals against the visitors' 0.61. It was West Ham's largest Premier League win since April 2023, when David Moyes' team also recorded a 4-0 success against Bournemouth.
{TABLE_1}Mavropanos opened the scoring late in the first half, rising to meet Jarrod Bowen's cross with a powerful header that beat Jose Sa. That goal separated the sides at the break after an edgy opening, though the early stages of the second period brought chances at both ends as Wolves tried to respond quickly to falling behind.
Angel Gomes went closest for Wolves when a fierce free-kick struck Mads Hermansen's crossbar, with the goalkeeper beaten. Soon after, West Ham almost punished Wolves on the counter-attack, as Crysencio Summerville spotted Sa off the line and sent a 40-yard effort narrowly over, underlining the growing threat from Nuno Espirito Santo's team.
West Ham also hit the woodwork when Bowen drove infield from the right wing and curled a left-footed shot against the far post. The hosts finally doubled their lead in the 66th minute, when Pablo produced a deft flick inside the area and Castellanos reacted quickest, finishing from close range to give West Ham breathing space.
Any hope of a Wolves response disappeared almost instantly from the restart. Joao Gomes lost possession deep in Wolves territory and Castellanos seized the chance, with a driven effort deflecting off Andre and wrong-footing Sa for the third goal. Mavropanos then made it 4-0 on 83 minutes, acrobatically hooking in from a corner beyond the Wolves goalkeeper.
West Ham could have added further damage in the closing minutes when former Wolves winger Adama Traore broke clear and faced Sa one-v-one, only to drag a low shot wide. Even without that late chance, the scoreline underlined Wolves' problems and left West Ham with renewed belief in avoiding relegation as the Premier League run-in intensifies.
