What Casemiro's absence means to Manchester United

Casemiro will miss Manchester United's FA Cup tie against Fulham at home, Premier League clash against Newcastle United away and Brentford and Everton.

Casemiro

Manchester United star midfielder Casemiro is facing a four-game ban after receiving a straight red card during Sunday's goalless draw with Southampton.

The Brazilian superstar was initially given a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor for a first-half challenge on Southampton midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, but it was upgraded to a red after VAR Andre Marriner advised Taylor to watch the monitor.

The former Real Madrid midfielder looked visibly upset following his sending off and now looks set to miss four games for the Red Devils after seeing his second direct red card of the season. The five-time Champions League winner was sent off against Crystal Palace earlier in the campaign which is why he will miss four games.

Which matches will Casemiro miss?

both at home. He will next be available domestically for Manchester United on April 15 when they travel to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Casemiro will however be available for Thursday's Europa League clash with Real Betis.

While Casemiro's sending off has caused plenty of stir and Erik ten Hag publicly hitting out at the officials for their inconsistency, his absence could be a major blow for the Red Devils. Manchester United could still bow out of the top four if they suffer a blip over the next few games and without Casemiro, they will certainly not be at their best.

Newcastle United away from home looks like a difficult game with the Magpies looking to give everything they have to secure a top-four finish. Brentford will also be looking to qualify for European football while Everton are very much in the mix for relegation. None of the three games will be easy for Ten Hag without his midfield dynamo Casemiro. With Casemiro and Eriksen both unavailable, the Manchester United midfield will be struggling for leadership and the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have to deliver.
