Shattering the dreams of an entire nation, the Indian football team's journey in the World Cup qualifiers ended only last month. Following that a number of incidents occurred including the firing of the head coach Igor Stimac.
However, since then, the question in everyone's mind remains to be when will India play their next match?

The All India Football Federation recently answered this question as they announced a statement announcing the dates of the Indian men's national football teams’s next matchdays. They are set to face off against Vietnam and Lebanon in a tri-nation friendly tournament in October. The fixtures are as follows:
This tournament comes at a crucial time for the Indian team, which has fallen to the 124th position in the FIFA rankings after disappointing performances in the World Cup qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup since last year. However, the story didn't end their as AIFF quickly fired their head coach, Igor Stimac, who had been running things for five years.
AIFF recently announced that they will announce a new head coach by the end of July. This means that their first tri-nation friendly match against Vietnam on October 9 could be the debut match for the new coach. The Indian football team will be determined to bounce back from their recent setbacks.
They will look to use this tournament as an opportunity to get back their form and do better. Vietnam and Lebanon are both ahead of India in the FIFA rankings. They are currently ranked 116th and 117th respectively in the rankings.
With a new coach at the helm, the Blue Tigers will be looking to make a strong comeback and climb back up the FIFA rankings. A lot of changes will be needed to make that happen before the Tri-Nation tournament. If those changes come along with the new coach, India should make a good recovery.
