The Indian Super League is set to resume again on November 21, following a short pause with the last international break of the year. During this break, many players joined their national teams, while others enjoyed some downtime before everyone joining their respective teams for training.

This season has been very competitive and it's visible from the ISL 2024-25 table. Five teams from third to seventh place in the table are sitting with the same 12 points. The action-packed league returns with NorthEast United travelling to face Punjab FC, kicking off Matchweek 9 on November 23.

In the first match of the matchweek 9, this season's two powerhouses face each other. Punjab is sitting in 6th place with 12 points from four wins and two defeats. They've started this season extremely well but they lost their last match against Goa by a 2-1 margin before the international break.

Hence, they will look for a strong comeback. However, that won't come easy considering the match is against NorthEast United who are sitting in third place with the same points from three wins, three draws, and two defeats. Considering they've played more games than Punjab, they will need to win more.

Mohun Bagan vs Odisha FC

Mohun Bagan's start to the season was shaky and inconsistent. However, They've still managed to register four wins, two draws, and a loss. With 14 points from that, they've managed to clinch second place in the league table. However, in their last match against Odisha, they drew by a 1-1 margin.

Hence, they will also look to go back to winning ways. Jamshedpur started the season quite well. So far, they've registered four wins but also registered three defeats. With 12 points, they're standing in seventh place in the Indian Super League table. Hence, they will be determined to get another win.
